Volunteer at The Alex
Our volunteers are vital to our work in the community. They are the friendly faces who can do the little extras for our clients, enhancing the quality of services that we offer.
You can help by relieving isolation for a senior with friendly visits; facilitate movement or art classes; assist with the preparation of sandwiches and hot meals in our community kitchen; accompany clients to their medical appointments; provide dental services to children or legal aid to youth; and so much more.
Our volunteer needs are as unique as our volunteers! Because of this, we may not have an immediate match for you based on skills or availability, however, we encourage you to apply online and we will contact you when something comes available.

Dental volunteers require a desire to give back to the public through oral health needs. Dental opportunities include: administration, chairside treatment provision, and oral health education and awareness. Shifts range from 2 – 5 hours.
Corporate teams, friends, neighbors, family– all are welcome. We have group opportunities that can be completed on-site or from the comforts of your office/home.
My volunteer work with the Alex Dental Health Bus connects me to a broader local community. I feel like I am positively contributing to our clients by being a visible and approachable example of how the dental team is an important part of their overall health.
Volunteering at The Alex has given me the opportunity to gain much needed experience … It has also given me the chance to feel like I have made a difference in someone’s life on a regular basis, which is very fulfilling
Seeing how much support and understanding there is at The Alex makes me forget that I am volunteering to help change lives, because it’s changing mine every day that I am here.
Being an “art volunteer” is now a big part of my identity. For me, the art and the volunteering are inseparable
