Mobile Health Program
Healthcare That Meets You
Where You Are
What if we took the best bits of our Community Health Centre… and made them mobile? You can find our dedicated support buses out across Calgary all year round, helping people of all ages.

Diabetes Mobile Clinic
Up to 20% of unhoused people in Canada are living with diabetes. That’s why we partnered with the University of Calgary to create the Diabetes Mobile Clinic (DMC). Launched in 2024, the DMC gives clients point-of-care diabetes testing, as well as comprehensive supports such as foot care, diabetes eye screening, education, specialist referrals, and coordinated follow-up treatment. This is more than outreach – this is consistent, appropriate, and barrier-free diabetes care, delivered exactly where it’s needed.
What the Mobile Diabetes Care Clinic Can Do
- Screening tests for diabetes and associated complications
- Basic foot care
- Diabetes self-management education
- Endocrinology care
- Referrals to specialists

Mobile Care Clinic
Our Mobile Care Clinic is a flexible outreach service providing low-barrier medical care and supports to people who have trouble accessing or interacting with healthcare facilities. Smaller and more nimble than our Community Health Bus, the Mobile Care Clinic can get into crowded urban spaces and other tight areas – meaning we can meet more people where they are.
Care is provided by a Nurse Practitioner and a Peer Support Worker, offering both clinical care and on-the-ground support.
What the Mobile Care Clinic Can Do
- General medical care (assessments, treatment, check-ups)
- Wound care, minor injuries, and infections
- Prescriptions and chronic disease support (including diabetes testing)
- Sexual health (STI testing, treatment, contraception)
- Prenatal/postnatal care and health screenings
- Mental health and addictions support
- Health education, referrals, and specialist connections
- Hygiene supplies and basic needs support
- Peer support, including safer use education and community resources

Dental Health Bus
The Dental Health Bus is a hygienist-led mobile outreach program that delivers vital oral health education and preventative care to children and youth age 3 to 24. It regularly visits targeted elementary schools and community locations to provide compensated services to populations most at risk of exclusion from regular dental treatment plans.
With us, children receive dental exams, sealants, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and education from our dental hygienists. Those who require restorative treatment are connected to The Alex’s Dental Access Network, a dedicated network of community dentists who volunteer their time and services to provide low- or no-cost care through their practices.
