Our Family Health Centre (sometimes called the Community Health Centre), is a full service health clinic with doctors and nurses who are here to listen to you! Our Health Centre is here for low-income Calgarians who do not have a regular family doctor.
There are lots of other services we provide, including:
- Chronic disease nurses (e.g. hypertension, diabetes)
- Massage therapy
Inside the Family Health Centre, our Communitree Wellness Centre connects you with your community with free programs like yoga classes, art classes, health and wellness programs and more!
We welcome you to visit us on a walk-in basis, or make an an appointment by calling 403-266-2622.
Due to mechanical problems, the Community Health Bus is current off the roads. We hope to have a new bus in early Fall 2018.

The Youth Health Centre is a safe and supportive place for Youth ages 12-24 to come and get health and social care from a trust-worthy and caring team of doctors, nurses and client workers.
Our Health Centre offers confidential services such as:
- Medical checkups
- STD and pregnancy testing
- Prescription drug services
Our Drop-In space provides you with:
- Basic needs (clothing, hot meals, toiletries, condoms, etc)
- Community Kitchen (cook and share meals)
- On-site Discovering Choices High School
- Computer access & resume writing/job search support
- Substance use support groups
- Queermunity LGBTQ2S+ group
- PreNatal / Parenting Support Group
- Community resource referrals
- ID document support
- Social service / court support

Our Youth Health Bus visits 8 CBE High Schools, providing:
- Someone to talk to who can answer your questions

Seniors Health Centre

Our Seniors Health Centre serves low-income seniors ages 55+ who don’t have a family doctor. Our patients have complex health and social needs, and our team of warm and caring doctors and nurses provide quality one-on-one care to increase your well being and quality of life.

The Alex has four different housing programs to help individuals experiencing chronic homeless. Each one follows the Housing First model, giving clients a home first and then providing health and social services to help with the complex issues that have led to homelessness.
To access any housing/case management program in Calgary, you need to contact the SORCe to schedule a SPDAT (Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool) and be placed on a central triage list.

Dental Services (Dental Health Bus & Dental Access Clinics)
We provide free dental care to low-income children and youth ages 6-24. Our bus services include oral health screenings and referrals, sealants, full hygiene treatment (scaling/polish/fluoride) and education. In partnership with local dental professionals, our Dental Access Clinics provide additional referred services including fillings and extractions.
For children and youth ages 6-24 in need of dental care, and not enrolled in one our partnering schools, you can schedule an appointment through our partnership with Aspen Family’s Heart of the Northeast Community Solutions Resource Centre.

Community Food Centre

Our newest program, The Alex Community Food Centre, is a bright and welcome space to enjoy a healthy meal, or to learn how to cook healthy foods. All of our programs are free, and we give priority to low-income Calgarians.
